Why Choose Us?
Captain Dave has been intrigued and called to the sea from young age. Growing up, watching Jacque Cousteau Dave dreamed of being a diver and living his life on the water. Dave became a certified scuba diver at age 15 and attended the College of Oceaneering to become a deep sea diver.
Life changes (and oil prices drop) Dave transited to Commercial fishing and diving in the waters of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. In 1998 he met his future bride and First Mate, Jennifer. After their wedding in 2001, Dave started working on tugboats all over the PNW – from Alaska to Mexico He worked his way up to Captain, starting with a 100 Ton license and has now become 1600 Ton Captain.
In 2014 we bought our first American Tug a 34 foot vessel called Tugnacious. We have had many adventures exploring the San Juan Islands and in 2018 took the Inside Passage to Alaska. Our vacation and long weekends are spent exploring the San Juan Islands.
In 2022 we upgraded our American Tug to the 43 foot new Tugnacious. And a dream was born. We have decided to do a small boat charter, sharing our love of the San Juan Islands, boating, food, and fun with a whole new group of people. Welcome abroad!
